May would have brought the 20th-anniversary celebration of White Pony, their game-changing masterpiece of progressive, shoegaze, and trip-hop-inflected metal that bore an obvious imprint on two of the first quarter’s most acclaimed rock albums, Higher Power’s 27 Miles Underwater and Loathe’s I Let It In And It Took Everything. Just go for whatever one you like best, and we will see how it turns out in the end!! 🤘 🤘Įither way, thanks for participating and checking this out, everything you guys do is appreciated greatly! And also, if you'd like, comment and say why you picked what option as well! I'd be glad to chat up about these guys as they really are one of my favorite bands (in a way I'm a fanboi :smirk: ).To truly appreciate Deftones’ legendary status in 2020, consider that they would’ve had an incredible year even if they released no new music at all.

And obviously, you don't have to love both albums in your pick, if you like one in an option and it's your favorite, then just vote for that option.

For example: Adrenaline and ATF both share a similar, heavier style while KNY and Gore show off their much more experimental side, the same going for the other album combinations but for different reasons. Also, I think it works great considering that each of these options seem to work with each other musically and stylistically. These options would be: Adrenaline/Around The Fur, White Pony/Self-Titled, Saturday Night Wrist/Diamond Eyes, and Koi No Yokan/Gore. What I'm going to do is split their albums into four options, where two albums will be together for a vote. I figured this would be a fairer way to vote so that there wouldn't be options that would get next to no votes due to the difficult decision to make for fans like myself. So for this poll, I'm going to do things a little differently. They truly are a great band of the present, and unlike some people, I like all their albums (and have all of them too  ). They have been able to change their style and survive their nu metal label of their early years, expanding into more experimental territory like art rock/metal and shoegaze, evident on their albums like 'Saturday Night Wrist' (2006) and 'Koi No Yokan' (2012). They have been extremely successful throughout their career (though they have had their low points due to drug addiction, relationship issues with family and other band members, and the loss of their beloved bassist Chi Cheng who died in 2013 due to being in a minimally conscious state from a car accident in 2008). Over their career, they have released eight studio albums (their most recent being Gore, which was released back in April), being signed to labels such as Maverick, Warner Bros., and Reprise. They originated in Sacramento, California, US and started in 1988, which can be almost hard to believe considering their first album was released in 1995. Deftones are a five piece alternative metal band and currently have the members Chino Moreno (vox & rhythm guitar), Stephen Carpenter (guitar), Sergio Vega (bass guitar), Abe Cunningham (drums/percussion), and Frank Delgado (keyboards/sampling/turntables).
